Dr. Ross Barker is a double board-certified, fellowship-trained Anesthesiologist and Interventional Pain Management Specialist. Dr. Barker believes in a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to pain management, tailored to each patient’s individual needs.
A Boston native, Dr. Barker completed his fellowship in Interventional Pain Management at Harvard Medical School, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. While at Harvard, he trained among leaders in the field of pain management, utilizing the most advanced techniques and interventions to alleviate acute and chronic pain.
Dr. Barker completed his Anesthesiology residency at Tufts University School of Medicine, St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, in Boston, where he served as Chief Resident. He also trained at Boston Children’s Hospital and Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. He attended medical school at the University of New England and received a Master’s degree in Medical Sciences from Boston University School of Medicine. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Emory University in Atlanta.
Dr. Barker appreciates how pain can significantly impact one’s quality of life. His goal is to provide comprehensive care to his patients in order to improve their function and enable them to return to their desired activities. He feels it is a privilege and honor to be responsible for a patient’s health during some of their most stressful and vulnerable times. Having experienced various orthopedic injuries of his own, Dr. Barker understands how impaired function and chronic pain can impact both emotional and physical well-being.
Dr. Barker has always been a very active person and enjoys living a healthy lifestyle. In his spare time, he and his wife enjoy spending time outside, traveling, and exploring new places.
